The B-segment sedan market in Vietnam is showing signs of slowing down, with only the Toyota Vios making it to the top 5 best-selling internal combustion engine vehicles in the first quarter of this year. The Return of the Big Three In March, the Hyundai Accent witnessed a more than twofold increase in sales, reaching 1,049 units. While impressive, this figure was not enough to surpass the Toyota Vios. During the same period, the Toyota Vios recorded sales of 1,041 units. Starting from 490 units at the beginning of the year, the Vios has consistently grown its sales throughout the first quarter. The Honda City, after enjoying a boost from promotional offers, has cooled down. Its sales for March stood at 690 units, a slight decrease from the previous reporting period’s 743 units. The Mazda2 sold 389 units in March, while the Mitsubishi Attrage saw a significant increase in sales to 273 units. Meanwhile, the Kia Soluto continued to lag behind as the slowest-selling B-segment ...

In 2014, the first Rolls-Royce Motor Cars dealership opened in Vietnam, with its headquarters in Hanoi despite its modest size. The man behind bringing this luxury car brand to the country was Doan Hieu Minh, who, after seven years of operations, handed over the business to another entity. Recently, the former CEO of Rolls-Royce Vietnam shared fascinating insights into his experience of running the luxury car brand. It all started in 2010 when he wanted to purchase a Rolls-Royce and went to an overseas showroom. He was quoted a price of $1 million, a substantial sum, and he couldn’t negotiate any aspects of the car, not even the paint color or specifications, as it was a readily available model. The first person to bring the Rolls-Royce brand to Vietnam reveals significant losses during the seven years of distribution, selling over 20 cars A year later, he traveled to Dresden, Germany, and visited an authorized Rolls-Royce showroom to order a customized Ghost, specifying everythi...

The Ultimate Hybrid Supercar: Ferrari F80, Now with Registered Design Protection in Vietnam

Image
The all-new Ferrari F80 hypercar has recently been registered for industrial design protection in Vietnam, according to data from the National Office of Intellectual Property. This is Ferrari’s newest hypercar, which was globally launched in October 2024 with a limited production run of 799 units. However, all of them were sold out even before the official debut of the car. The registration information was published in the May 2025 issue of the Industrial Property Gazette, with the original application dating back to September 2024, even before the global launch of the car. The application was represented by an intellectual property company in Hanoi, which had also performed similar procedures for the Ferrari Purosangue before the official distribution of the SUV in 2023. However, the registration for industrial design protection does not necessarily mean that the Ferrari F80 will be available in Vietnam. This could simply be a legal step to protect the car’s design from potenti...

While Jaguar struggles with a significant sales slump, with only 49 new registrations in Europe last month, the Defender has become Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) cash cow. It comes as no surprise that the British automaker has chosen to invest significantly in a mid-life upgrade for the Defender, comprehensively addressing user needs while subtly maintaining the model’s peak appeal. According to official announcements, the Land Rover Defender L663 generation will undergo notable changes in design, technology, and engine options. The model will debut in the UK before expanding to global markets. The 2026 Defender’s exterior receives subtle yet distinct refinements to its headlight and taillight clusters. The headlights are more sharply designed with signature light graphics, while the taillights adopt a flat, “eyeglass” orientation, finished in dark-tinted lenses. Fog lights are now standard across the range. Land Rover has also introduced a range of new color options, including Bor...
