Touch The Lexus LF-ZL Concept, Lexus’s Flagship Electric SUV of The Future

The Lexus LF-ZL has a traditional SUV silhouette, but there are enough elements to set it apart from anything Lexus currently produces.

It’s quite large, even bigger than the LX 600, measuring 5,300 mm (208.7 in) long, 2,020 mm (79.5 in) wide, and 1,700 mm (66.9 in) tall, with a 3,350-mm (131.9-in) wheelbase.

The Lexus LF-ZL Concept features a completely flat floor and a technology-packed interior. It has a futuristic steering wheel and a large touchscreen display that sits on the passenger side of the dashboard; the latter will house all of the vehicle’s infotainment and other controls.

As befits a concept, the front seats are quite radical and will surely be toned down for production. Nevertheless, it’s clear that whoever sits up front will have plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy the airy cabin.

Lexus has designed the LF-ZL Concept as a four-seater, and those in the back get reclining lounge chairs with footrests and a small bamboo partition between them. Like the LF-ZC, the LF-ZL also uses a new operating system called Arene, which is designed to learn and predict the driver’s needs and personalize their driving experience.

Powering the LF-ZL concept is Lexus’ new advanced high-performance prismatic battery, which is said to offer significant improvements in range compared to conventional electric vehicles.
