The Extravagant Emirati: A Dubai Billionaire Splashes $1.6 Million on a Luxurious Limousine
In a recent development, Stanislav Semenov, the owner of Dubai-based quantitative trading firm Eqvilent, has made headlines with his purchase of a luxurious car from China: the Hongqi Guoli.
The Hongqi Guoli is a vintage-style limousine often associated with dignitaries and high-ranking officials. It was first introduced in China back in June 2024.
Semenov has been a frequent attendee at Hongqi events in both China and Dubai, which sparked his special interest in this domestic brand positioned in the ultra-luxury segment.
The Hongqi Guoli that he ordered features a unique two-tone color scheme: an exterior combination of emerald green and moonlight white, while the interior is finished in a contrasting dark green and white, creating a distinct personalized touch.
Hongqi Guoli impresses with its massive vertical waterfall grille at the front, complemented by round headlights. According to the brand, this design symbolizes the harmony between heaven and earth, while also conveying a sense of authority.
The long hood features a Hongqi logo that can be retracted, tilting forward at a 23.5-degree angle, which corresponds to the tilt of the Earth’s axis. This detail showcases the thoughtful philosophy behind the brand’s design language. Inside the headlights are intricately crafted crystal blocks, accentuating the limousine’s exceptional status.
Apart from the distinctive color scheme, Semenov’s Guoli also boasts intricate handcrafted details, including traditional Chinese paintings on the ceiling and center armrest. This is the most premium option in Hongqi’s customization list, and it’s also the reason why the car’s declared export price reached approximately $1.5 million, significantly higher than the starting price of 7.18 million Chinese yuan in China.
Under the hood, the Guoli is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering 388 horsepower and a maximum torque of 530 Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. While it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km/h, the Guoli has a relatively high fuel consumption of around 15.2 liters/100 km, hence the massive 112-liter fuel tank.
Guoli sits at the top of Hongqi’s ultra-luxury car collection under the new Golden Sunflower brand, specifically developed to cater to leaders and ultra-wealthy individuals. Along with Guoli, the brand also offers the Guoyao, Guoya, and Guoyue models, forming an ecosystem inspired by the Chinese philosophy of “round sky and square earth.”
